<div style="text-align: justify; "> In pursuance of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Notification, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2013 will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc. Now, AIEEE will be known as JEE (Main) and IIT - JEE as JEE (Advanced).</div><div style="text-align: justify;">The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE(Main). The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Mode of Examination</div><div style="text-align: justify; ">The Paper-1 (described below) of JEE (Main) will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. Offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode. The Paper-2 of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based examination mode. A candidate will opt for either Pen and Paper Based or Computer Based examination modes for Paper-1 only.</div><div style="text-align: justify; "><h4><span style="font-weight: bold;">Type of Examination</span></h4><div> JEE (Main) - 2013 shall have two papers, Paper-1 and Paper-2. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PwD candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1983 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered</div><h4><span style="font-weight: bold;">ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR APPEARING IN JEE (Advanced) - 2013</span></h4><div>The minimum academic qualification for appearing in JEE (Advanced) - 2013 is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of Class 12th or other qualifying examination (Appendix - 4). Those appearing in these examinations in 2013 can also appear in JEE (Advanced) - 2013 provisionally. All the candidates aspiring to take admission in the undergraduate programmes at IITs and ISM Dhanbad for the year 2013 will have to appear in the JEE (Main)-2013 (Paper 1). About 150000 top candidates based on the performance of JEE (Main)-2013 (Paper 1) (including all categories) will be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced)-2013. Admissions to IITs/ISM Dhanbad will be based only on category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE (Advanced), subject to conditions as defined in JEE (Advanced) - 2013 website. A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in consecutive years irrespective of whether or not he/she passed the Qualifying Examination. Those who have attempted JEE in 2011 or earlier are NOT ELIGIBLE to appear in JEE (Advanced) - 2013.</div></div> </div>
